Reading results
Head race (fall): boats start one at a time, 10 to 15 seconds apart, and race the clock over 4,000 to 5,000 m. The bow number is the start order, so a boat can pass another and still not be winning.
Sprint (spring): six boats side by side over 1,500 or 2,000 m. Heats feed finals; the A final decides medals.
Margin is the gap to the winner in seconds. Placings can change after the regatta applies penalties, usually for a missed buoy or a traffic violation.
DNS / DNF / DSQ: did not start, did not finish, disqualified.
